Last night my lovely friends and I went to check out a new restaurant in Williamsburg, Santos Anne. As soon as I saw the words Mexican/french fusion on the Yelp review i knew I had to go. Santos Anne is cozy but not cramped, with enough art and knick knacks to make it homey but not cluttered. It’s a fantastic place to bring a date, we were actually the only customers who weren’t obviously on dates.
The food is remarkable. We shared the octopus ceviche to start and seriously I could have eaten a bowl of it and nothing else, it was so delicious. For my meal I had the Steak brochette, which was tender pieces of skirt steak on a skewer with red and green peppers and mudrooms, served with some of the most delicious french fries I’ve had in New York.
While we ate the talented Fiona Silver serenaded us with Lykke Lic overs, she had a wonderfully throaty voice. There was a courtyard outside with a full bocce court (we didn’t play, just smoked cigarettes) and an ATM (the restaurant is, sadly, cash only).
Our waitress was attentive and super friendly, and after we’d paid she brought us a round of free tequila shots infused with brown sugar and honey because we’d been “so great”. I am seriously obsessed with Santos Anne and will definitely be going back many, many times.
